Course Description :
This
class will trace the development of Western
Civilization by concentrating on political, social,
economic, and religious continuity and. There will
be three basic divisions in the course from The
Ancient world to The Middle Ages, from Middle Ages
to Rise of Modernity and from the Rise of Modernity
to the Modern West. Numerous areas will cover
including the following: the First Civilizations,
Hebrews, Greeks, City States, Christianity,
Modernity, individuals influencing history and vice
versa, rise and fall of governments, long and short
term causes for important events, reasons for rise
of “the West. When finished, students should have a
broad understanding of the importance of Western
Civilization within the modern world.
